How It Turned Out For Dave

Dave is a guy who loves football more than the average guy, he's exactly the opposite of 'thick and tall'. He celebrated his birthday a day before his success story began. Just as he slept on his birthnight(birthday's night) and woke into the next day, he found out that things had began to work out for his good. "You have gotten a scholarship to study in Canada" said Dave's dad who was waiting for his son's reply. Dave took in a deep breath and gave himself a 5seconds countdown as he jumped off the bed, he jumped in such a way that he could have gotten his head cut by the ceiling fan. He was so happy that he screamed to the loudest of his voice even when he wasn't sure of dad's statement. It all ended when he got tired (just like an Igbo proverb interprets "it takes energy to be mad"). His loving mom prepared the family's favourite meal as she also invited family friends to join in the celebration. This (I guess) was the best day of Dave's life as he had never left his state before. Everything was sponsored by the school which gave him the opportunity; all he needed to do was to get ready in 2 weeks time. It was exactly a week and 6 days later when the lightening of bad luck struck him on the road; he had an accident. He was unconscious for approximately 3 days, though in a state of coma, he knew he had missed his flight and scholarship opportunity.
After several months, he was discharged in a sad condition; he needed an artificial source to help himself stand and move (crushes, artificial leg, wheelchair, etc), his left leg was shattered. Starring at poor Dave and looking into his dead hope, his father said " I'm honestly sorry son, I would never believe it could turn out this way" kissed him on his forehead and embraced him.

The Kaboom Sound

All she heard was a kaboom sound when she ran out of the house. Her heart beat was so loud enough that she could hear them herself. "what's going on?" she asked herself, she couldn't even tell what made the sound. With her eyes swollen, her nose bleeding and in a slow motion, she fell on the floor. Martha had already been warned not to indulge in any sort of fighting or struggling, but she won't listen.
