Martha Martha

With her eyes swollen, her nose bleeding and in a slow motion, she fell on the floor. Martha had already been warned not to indulge in any sort of fighting or struggling, but she won't listen. This time, she lost her temper and decided to fight a fellow who used a vulgar language on her. Finally for the day, an ambulance came quickly to take her straight for treatment. Martha is a 21 year old lady who gets angry at even the slightest bit of a mistake made, she lives with her boyfriend who later became an ex on 14th February 2018. After some checkups, it was found by the doctor that Martha is suffering from asthma, her ex-boyfriend who still accommodates her took her home as if he was her guardian angel. Martha on the other hand is a kept lady; her standards are higher than the average lady. She doesn't intend to combat with others, she's just pushed by her anger. Her sad part are not just loosing of temper and her asthma; she doesn't know her parents yet she's po

Tom Got Expelled

Tom Loitering the school compound, Tom was caught, caned and expelled. It all seemed to be a dream until he found himself going home before the normal 2PM. On his way going home he was thinking; "what do I have to do now because mom and dad are going to have me punished". He finally came up with an idea he called good; "I'm going to hang around till it's 2PM, then I'll go home and act like nothing ever happened" he concluded. At exactly 2PM, Tom headed straight for home (though he had guilt on his mind). On reaching home, Tom found out that Dad hasn't come back for launch because Mom was still cooking. He went in through the door, gave his mom a cold greeting and rocketed himself towards his room. Unfortunately, before he could touch the door handle (of his room), mom sensed that something was wrong. "Hey Tom, are you OK?" Mom asked, Tom who had to continue as planned replied his mom in a warm tone; "I'm alright mom!". H

How It Turned Out For Dave

Dave is a guy who loves football more than the average guy, he's exactly the opposite of 'thick and tall'. He celebrated his birthday a day before his success story began. Just as he slept on his birthnight(birthday's night) and woke into the next day, he found out that things had began to work out for his good. "You have gotten a scholarship to study in Canada" said Dave's dad who was waiting for his son's reply. Dave took in a deep breath and gave himself a 5seconds countdown as he jumped off the bed, he jumped in such a way that he could have gotten his head cut by the ceiling fan. He was so happy that he screamed to the loudest of his voice even when he wasn't sure of dad's statement. It all ended when he got tired (just like an Igbo proverb interprets "it takes energy to be mad"). His loving mom prepared the family's favourite meal as she also invited family friends to join in the celebration. This (I guess) was the best d

The Scary Dream

I was so deep into one of my sweet dreams when I heard a gunshot. It was actually bad because the gunshot wasn't part of the dream(I thought so). I woke up and peeped through my window to confirm what was happening and where it was happening, then I also peeped through my door's keyhole to ensure that it had nothing to do with me. Courage was scared out of me when the gunshot became rapid, it sounded as if two big continents are in war against each other. Then I remembered an idiom that says “when two elephants fight, it is the ground that suffers” and then it occurred to me that I represent the ground in this fight of theirs. I looked outside my window again just to find out that the war was waged by two cult groups. However, I still thank God that they all shot their guns with perfect accuracy. Not quite longer than 30 minutes, I heard the sound of a chopper and the sound of sirens; It was the SWAT team that had come in to show the cult groups the full meaning of 'SWAT

Amy's Laziness

Amy slept on the sofa Amy jogged happily to the house not knowing there was a test waiting for her arrival. Mom had left the entrance to the house untidy. Amy walked through the gates and saw that the entrance was very untidy. She went inside, changed her clothes, ran off to the parlour, turned the TV on and finally pounced on the sofa. Amy was actually the lazy type and mom's test was to check if Amy is doing any better. She later got hungry and sluggishly went to the kitchen just to find out that mom didn't scoop the food for her, neither did mom warm it. Due to her level of laziness, she finally ate the food without warming it. Mom had always prayed for a day she'll come back from work and see everything well tidied up. And today, it happened as usual; Amy slept on the sofa till mom came back. Mom looked sorrowfully at her sleeping Amy, remembered her late husband's effort to change her daughter and said in tears "why can't you pass this test for once?,
